Oklahoma Book Awards

The call for entries for the 37th Annual Oklahoma Book Awards closed on January 7, 2026. During this year’s submission period, authors, poets, illustrators, photographers, and book designers were invited to enter eligible titles published in 2025 that feature Oklahoma or were created by individuals who live or have lived in the state.

All submissions are now under review by the awards judging panel. Finalists will be announced in spring 2026, followed by the awards ceremony later in the season.

For those interested in participating in a future competition, the call for entries for the Oklahoma Book Awards is typically announced each fall. Categories and eligibility requirements are provided below to help prospective applicants prepare for the next submission cycle. Sign up for our monthly newsletter to receive notifications when the next call for entries opens.

The Oklahoma Book Awards are presented by the Oklahoma Center for the Book, which works to celebrate, support, and promote Oklahoma’s rich literary heritage.
