D.A.R.E. Officer Training
Description
Once you have completed this training you will be able to teach: • The D.A.R.E. Kindergarten - 4th grade Curriculum • The D.A.R.E. Elementary 5th and 6th Grade Curriculum and • The D.A.R.E. Middle School Curriculum Keeping It Real • The High School Curriculum and Enhancement Lessons. D.A.R.E. also has supplemental lesson a D.A.R.E. Officer can teach: • Opioid & OTC/RX Lessons for K–12th Grade • Opioid & OTC/RX Parent/Community Lesson • More Than Sad: Teen Mental Health • Vaping Lesson – 7th & 10th Grade • Online and Social Media Safety; Since this is an intense two-week training, we require that all participants stay at the hotel if you are more than 40 miles from the training site. The room rate is $89.00 plus tax, rate includes breakfast. If you are exempt from State sales tax, you will need to provide the hotel with the proper documentation. Agencies are responsible for hotel accommodations. The seminar will require many out-of-classroom hours for preparation. All classroom sessions are mandatory for certification. (Registration fee includes class supplies.) Applicants must be full-time commissioned/sworn officers with at least two years of law-enforcement experience. If you have less than two years’ experience, you will have to apply for a waiver. The forms must be completed and returned as soon as possible.
