Basic Instructor Development (BID)
Description
This is a 40-hour CLEET Certification course designed to equip law enforcement officers with the fundamental skills necessary to effectively instruct and train others as a certified CLEET Instructor in the State of Oklahoma. The course covers instructional classroom techniques, lesson planning and public speaking. Students will be required to complete numerous class presentations as part of the coursework. A final graded exam on the last day must successfully be completed with a score of 70% or better. 100% attendance is required. This course is a prerequisite for any skills instructor courses (Firearms, Law Enforcement Driver Training and Defensive Tactics Instructor). To be eligible for attendance, approved students must have 2 years of full-time experience past basic academy certification date or 5 years full-time/reserve combined and a written endorsement from their agency head. Your applications will be submitted to CLEET for final approval to attend the BID course. In your email request, please include your endorsement letter and your CLEET #. Attire will be business casual or agency uniform. Seating will be limited. We will have back up slots available. Seating is limited to 24 students.
