| Minimum Requirements |
| Must be 21 years of age. Must pass local comprehension/aptitude tests, practical exams, MMPI-2/CPI, or related psychological performance tests. Must be eligible for the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System. Must be able to be eligible for and pass the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System. Must be willing to work shift work that could include: nights, evenings, weekends, and some Holidays. Must be a resident of the State of Oklahoma and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor of moral turpitude or have pending criminal actions, and have a clean driving record. Must not be a user of controlled substances. Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation. |
| Key Responsibilities |
| • Operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time in all environmental conditions, and on occasion operate the vehicle in high speeds and in congested traffic situations, • Patrol areas of City and enforce state and federal laws and City ordinances; • Respond to accident scenes, investigate causes, and file accident reports; • Issue citations to violators of traffic laws; • Visit the scene of crimes and accidents; • Search for and preserve evidence; • Investigate and interview victims, witnesses and potential suspects; • Apprehend suspects of crimes or misdemeanors; • Participate in line-ups; • Make oral and written reports; • Provide testimony in court; • Participate in various training sessions; • Do any other functions that may be required by the Administrative Staff |
