Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Ability to obtain and maintain police officer certification
No felony convictions; must meet department background standards
Ability to pass drug screenings prior to hire and during employment if needed
Key Responsibilities
Patrol areas to deter and detect criminal activity
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
Enforce local, state laws
Conduct traffic enforcement and accident investigations
Investigate crimes, collect evidence, and prepare reports
Make arrests and testify in court as required
Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct at all times
