Minimum Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• No felony convictions
• No convictions for crimes of moral turpitude or domestic violence
• No DUI, DWI, or reckless driving violations within the past 5 years
• Must pass a comprehensive background check
• Must submit to the state-mandated MMPI psychological evaluation
• Must possess strong ethics and moral character
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Must be able to work effectively in a small-town environment
• Must be available to work nights and weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce local, state, and federal laws to ensure public safety
• Conduct patrols within town limits to deter crime and respond to calls for service
• Perform traffic enforcement, including stops, citations, and accident investigations
• Prepare clear and accurate written reports, citations, and documentation
• Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance to victims when needed
• Conduct preliminary investigations of criminal activity and gather evidence
• Engage in community-oriented policing by building positive relationships with residents
• Assist full-time staff with special events, town functions, and school-related activities
• Maintain professionalism, strong ethics, and proper use of discretion in all situations
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and CLEET standards at all times
