Applications will be accepted until Position(s) are filled. The Police Department application must be submitted by mail, in person or email. Applicants will be contacted by phone to schedule a date for the physical fitness test. Upon successful completion of the PT test the written testing will be scheduled. A complete description of the physical fitness requirements is available in the application packet. Applicants should wear appropriate clothing for the physical fitness test. Certified Officers are not required to take the written test or the Physical Fitness Test. Certified officers will be contacted by phone to schedule an in-person interview. Physician release must be completed prior to participation in the physical fitness test. No exceptions. 
Requirements: 
• Must be 21 – 45 years of age unless a current member of the Oklahoma Police Pension Retirement System
• Must possess a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must pass an extensive background investigation (no felonies, domestic violence related offenses, or crimes of moral turpitude)
• Must be willing to serve at least 3 years if not certified, 2 years if already a Certified Officer
• Visible tattoos are allowed (except face and neck)
• CLEET certified preferred (Higher starting pay for Certified Officers)

Key Responsibilities

Patroling and conducting Law Enforcement related duties in the City of Weatherford.

Salary/Compensation

The City of Weatherford offers a starting pay of $54,902.02 ($26.40/hr) for CLEET certified applicants and $52,790.40 ($25.38/hr) for non-certified applicants. Officers will then receive approximately a 4% step increase per year based the pay scale and evaluation process. We also offer paid overtime and a comprehensive benefits package worth approximately $10,000.
