Minimum Requirements
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be eligible for the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System.
• Must be willing to work shift work that could include nights, evenings, weekends, and Holidays.
• Must be a resident of the State of Oklahoma and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor of moral turpitude or have pending criminal actions and have a clean driving record.
• Must not be a present or recent user of controlled substances. One must demonstrate through background investigation, interviews, and other tests that he/she is suited for the job of police officer
Key Responsibilities
• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity
• Respond to calls for service and emergencies
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence
• Make arrests and prepare cases for court
• Enforce traffic laws and issue citations
• Provide assistance and support to victims of crime
• Maintain records and prepare written reports
• Engage with the community through events and outreach programs
• Attend training and stay up to date on laws and law enforcement techniques
