The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office Investigations Division is seeking a CLEET certified peace officer to serve as the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Investigator:

Job Title: SAKI Grant Investigator

Summary: Represents the Tulsa County District Attorney’s (TCDA) office as a sub-grantee for the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI)

Qualifications

Applicant must be a CLEET certified Peace Officer. Experience in Sexual Assault investigations preferred. Generalized investigative experience accepted. 

Responsibilities

  • Researching, running TRACIS reports and selecting SANE kits for batches to DNA Solutions and Bode Labs for testing.
  • Checking out evidence and transporting Tulsa Police Department (TPD) untested sexual assault kits to DNA Solutions (designated outsource lab) in Oklahoma City for DNA testing and returning previous batch back to TPD’s property room.  Writing supplemental reports regarding the chain of custody and transport of each kit.
  • Serving subpoenas to victims and witnesses for SVU offenses, which include sexually based offenses and Domestic Violence crimes that have a sexual component.
  • Assisting with Tulsa Police Department (TPD) Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigations to expedite the investigation and criminal justice process.
  •  Assist lead TPD SAKI detective with cold case rape investigations and prosecution.
  • Transporting victims and witnesses of sexual assault to and from court hearings.
  • Writing and serving search warrants for sexual assault cases.
  • Interviewing victim and witnesses on First Degree Rape cases filed in Tulsa County.
  • Running background checks utilizing DA’s office databases to locate victims, witnesses and suspects connected to SAKI cases.
  • Research subjects and serve subpoenas
  • Participate in and/or conduct SVU crime related training
  • Update Karpel (TCDA) case files
  • Interact and communicate with law enforcement in Tulsa County regarding SVY investigation and prosecution.
  • Assist in the investigation/preparation of SVU cases once charges are filed.
  • Coordinate with Victim Advocates to locate and secure appearance of witnesses as needed.
  • Track and provide SVU information for grant reporting
  • Communicate with the SVU Prosecutors to ensure vertical prosecution of offenders
  •  Support media needs of the TCDA SVU including, copying, re-formatting, cleaning and repair, redaction, conversion and courtroom presentation of digital media and demonstrative evidence.

Reports to: Chief Investigator

Salary: $51,500.00
