The Town of Sperry Oklahoma is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. This position is responsible for planning, directing, supervision, and overseeing all the activities of the Police Department in coordination with the Town Board ofTrustees.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief of Police provides leadership, spuervision, and direction to all police personnel including Patrol Officers and Reserve Officers. The Chief oversees daily police operations, enforce department policies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Manages the department budget and equipment procurement as approved by the Town.
Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and local officials.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics, while keeping the Town Administrator and Board informed of departmental needs and progress.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience as a certified police officer, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity (preferred).
- Current CLEET certification (or the ability to obtain) and a commitment to ongoing continuing education requirements.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster and grow community relationships and uphold the department's public image.
- Experience in managing resources, budget, and personnel.
