Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age. This is a trainee-level position, but the selected applicant will be required to successfully complete a full twelve-month probationary period, which includes written examinations, practical assessments, and supervised field training with a designated Field Training Officer.

Applicants must successfully complete all components of the agency’s selection process, including comprehension and aptitude testing, practical skills evaluations, psychological testing such as the MMPI-2/CPI or comparable instruments, an extensive background investigation, structured interviews, drug screening, and any additional evaluations deemed necessary.

Applicants must meet all requirements of the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System, including passing the State Pension Board physical examination.

Applicants must be United States citizens and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Applicants must have no felony convictions and no pending criminal charges.

Applicants must not currently use, or have recently used, illegal controlled substances.

Applicants must demonstrate, through background review, interview performance, and all other testing, that they possess the character, judgment, and suitability required to serve as a police officer.

Key Responsibilities

Police officers with the City of Piedmont maintain public safety by patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, and enforcing state and local laws. Officers investigate crimes and traffic incidents, make arrests when necessary, prepare clear and accurate reports, and provide testimony in court. Duties also include serving warrants, conducting traffic enforcement, assisting injured persons, and working with the community to prevent crime and improve overall safety. Officers are expected to use sound judgment, follow department policies, and operate all equipment safely and professionally.

Salary/Compensation

$49,590.25 - $62,819.45
