| Minimum Requirements |
| • Must be a citizen of the United States. • Must have High School Diploma or GED. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. • Preferred experience with a law enforcement agency. • Preferred experience as a police dispatcher. • Preferred OLETS Certification (active or expired) • Preferred successful completion of some college credit hours or degree. |
| Key Responsibilities |
| Operating a telephone switchboard Communicating in a clear and concise manner Operating office business equipment (i.e. scanners, FAX, and Copiers) Using a computer, keyboard, and mouse Using a two-way radio Organizing, filing, and retrieving documents from files. Obtain, note, and transfer details of complex situations to police officers by telephone or radio communication Effectively prepare, organize, file, and retrieve written forms, logs, and report documents Respond effectively and calmly with difficult or irate callers Recognize critical situations and organize actions following protocols and standards for emergency responses Remain calm in an emergency |
