Minimum Requirements
Must be 21 years of age or older, a citizen of the United States and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Poses a valid Oklahoma CLEET license and have 5 years experience as law enforcement and be able to attend and pass Chief school within a year of hire.
Must have a valid driver license.
Must have or be able to pass an MMPI-2/CPI, must pass a comprehensive background investigation to include criminal.
Must not be convicted or have been convicted of a felony, can not have any type of protective order, or any minor charges relating to money fraud, laundering, embezzlement or have pending criminal actions, or crimes of moral turpitude.
Must be subject to other interviews, and a drug tests.
Must be Field Sobriety test certified.
Must be Basic Instructor Development (BID).
Must be Crisis Intervention Team Trained.
Must be law enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the department to include other full time officers and reserve offices duties and work schedule.
2. Do administrative paper that needs to be feel out in filled with CLEET, OSBI, OBN and any and all state and Federal agency.
3. Give monthly police reports to city council and attend monthly police chief meeting.
4. Patrols assigned area of City; checking buildings, and residences for suspicious activity to deter crime and to protect lives and property of the citizens.
5. Enforces State and Federal laws and City ordinances and traffic laws.
6. Investigates crime scenes; talks to or interviews witnesses or victims; searches for and preserves evidence; participates in line-ups; makes oral or written reports such as criminal complaint forms or narrative reports; testifies in court.
7. Makes arrests on criminal and traffic related offenses at the scene, executes search warrants and arrests after obtaining sufficient evidence to arrest.
8. Assist stranded motorists, provides assistance to those who need aid, comfort or who are in distress. Determines if a person is a danger to self or others and evaluates the mental stability of the individual.
9. May investigate traffic accidents. May assist in jail responsibilities, booking and fingerprinting, dispatch or animal control. May assist in diverse tasks involving the recognition, collection and analysis of evidence and information.
10. Speaks before citizens and citizen’s groups; participates in various in service training; communicates with other law enforcement personnel in various agencies and with the city/District Attorney’s office.
11. Must demonstrate proficiency with firearms and with physical defense techniques to defend self and others.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary/Compensation (if available)
$42,117 a year
13 paid holidays
80 hours of vacation a year
8 hours of sick leave a month with maximum of 96 hours.
