| Qualifications to fill this position include, but are not limited to: • CLEET certification required • Must be 21 years or older and a U.S. Citizen • Must have a valid driver’s license • Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate • Have no felony or significant misdemeanor convictions and no pending criminal charges • Not be involved with illicit drug use or abuse • Have no arrests for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence within the past five years (DUI or DWI) • No convictions of crimes of moral turpitude or domestic violence • No reckless driving violations in the past five years • Must have a high degree of ethical standards and moral character • Must have sound judgment and interpersonal skills • Must be community oriented • Must work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed • Must be able to perform police duties without physical limitations or special accommodations • Must pass a background investigation, drug screening, and psychological assessment tests DISQUALIFIERS ANY Felony Conviction ANY Domestic Violence Arrest or Valid Complaint ANY Conviction for a Crime of Moral Turpitude ANY Other than Honorable Military Discharge ANY Protective Order Issued Against ANY Conviction for DUI, DWI within last 5yrs |

| Key Responsibilities • Conducting patrols to deter/detect criminal activity, providing a visible police presence • Building positive relationships with community members • Responding to emergency calls, providing first aid if required during critical incidents • Investigate traffic accidents and crime scene • Make oral or written reports, testify in court • Enforce State Statutes, Federal laws, and City ordinances • Make arrests on criminal and traffic related offenses |
