Minimum Requirements
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver's License. Must within six months of employment, complete and thereafter shall maintain in good standing, a diploma of certification as a Peace Officer from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training. Must successfully pass a written examination, review by an oral board, physical examination, polygraph examination, extensive background investigation, MMPI, and physical agility test. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Must have no less than sixty (60) credit hours of college course work (four-year degree from an accredited University or College preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

This level is created by the Classification function in Human Resources, based on business need as determined by area leadership and approved by the appropriate Vice President, in accordance with university practices. Qualification: Requires a university degree in related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in chosen field that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.
Key Responsibilities
Provide for campus safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations. Record facts to prepare reports that document incidents and activities. Monitor, note, report, and investigate suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity in patrol area. Identify, pursue, and arrest suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts. Review facts of incidents to determine if criminal acts or statute violations were involved. Render aid to accident victims and other persons requiring first aid for physical injuries. Investigate traffic accidents and other accidents to determine causes and determine if a crime has been committed. Cooperate with other law enforcement officials.
