Sheriff Kevin Mitchell
- Kevin Mitchell is currently the Sheriff of Woodward County, OK and has held that position since April of 2015.
- Kevin served in the U.S. Army from 1992 to 2002. It was while stationed at Ft. Sill, OK in 1999 that Kevin started his law enforcement career with the Cache Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer. Kevin served as a Reserve Police Officer until 2002 when he left active-duty military service.
- Kevin continued in law enforcement after leaving the military with the Parker County Sheriff's Office in Weatherford, Tx from March 2002 to Oct 2003. During his time with Parker County, he became a Taser Instructor.
- From Oct 2003 to Sept 2006 Kevin was employed with the Cache Police Department culminating as the Asst Chief of Police. While at the Cache Police Department Kevin attended Cameron University as a Criminal Justice student and also became certified as a DARE Officer.
- In September 2006 to the present Kevin has been employed with the Woodward County Sheriff's Office. He progressed through the ranks to the position of Sheriff. Kevin has held many different duties at Woodward County to include DARE Officer, K9 Handler, Tactical Team member, CLEET Instructor, Reserve Academy Coordinator, Taser Instructor and SCUBA Diver. Kevin has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and also holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certification. Kevin currently serves as the Northwest Region Chairman on the Board of the Oklahoma Sheriff's Association.
- Kevin was married to his high school sweetheart, Tonya, from 1994 until her passing in 2022. They have two daughters, of whom he is very proud.
