Deputy Sheriff Todd Oneal Young
- On May 30, 2023, Deputy Sheriff Todd Oneal Young was appointed by the Oklahoma Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (OSPOA) to serve as its representative on the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET).
- Todd was born and raised in Ada Oklahoma and attended Latta Public Schools graduating in 1999 and later attended East Central University until 2003. Todd is married to Veronica Young and has two beautiful children Coy & Cora.
- Todd began his career as a police officer in May 2003 at the City of Konawa Police Department serving as a Patrolman.
- In May 2004 Todd was hired by the City of Wewoka Police Department. Todd served as a Patrolman, Sergeant, Instructor, Lake Patrol, and member of the Wewoka Police SWAT. During his time with the City of Wewoka, Todd received Letters of Commendation, The Governors Commendation, and a Medal of Valor.
- In February 2015, Todd was appointed to the position of Deputy Sheriff for Pontotoc County. Todd serves as a Field Deputy, Firearms Instructor, and member of the PCSO SWAT as a sharp shooter.
- Todd holds a Reserve, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced CLEET certification with over 2300 hours of continuing education and training.
- Todd successfully completed CLEET’s Firearms Instructor Program in 2014 for Revolvers, SemiAutomatic Pistols, and Shotguns. Since then, he has gained the following certifications: Patrol Rifle Instructor in 2015, Lever Action Rifle Instructor in 2017, Long-Range Scoped Rifle Instructor in 2018, and Select Fire-Machine & Sub-Machine Gun Instructor in 2023.
- Todd stands firm that training and education for Oklahoma peace officers is a necessity to safeguard the public’s trust. Oklahoma has a long-standing tradition of producing some of the finest peace officers in history that wholeheartedly protect the peace and prosperity of the citizens of this state.
- Todd’s father Coy Oneal Young Sr. served as a full-time Deputy Sheriff for the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office from 1959 to 1986.
