Captain Randy Tanner
- Captain Randy Tanner began his career with the Tahlequah Police Department in 1999 as a communications officer, and was promoted to patrol in early 2000.
- In 2003, Tanner became the Tahlequah police departments first nationally certified DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) and became a DRE Instructor in 2004.
- Since 2006 he has served as the department’s range master & armorer along with coordinating all firearms training along with the SFST training.
- He still comes to Ada to the academy to assist with basic academy firearms training as time permits.
- Captain Tanner enjoys competitively shooting with a focus on PPC, and feel that competition helps battle compliancy.
- He is currently the Training and Development Captain for the department and is also assigned as an elementary school resource officer and has done this since 2013.
