Firm Licensure
In Oklahoma, any firm that offers licensed services, contracts for licensed services, or practices a profession that requires a license must have a Certificate of Authority. A Certificate of Authority authorizes a firm to practice architecture, landscape architecture, or licensed interior design in Oklahoma (59 OS Sec. 46.9).
All Oklahoma licenses - individual and firm - expire on June 30th of every odd year.
In order to apply for a Certificate of Authority, the firm must have an Architect, Landscape Architect, or Licensed Interior Designer - who is licensed in Oklahoma - to serve as the firm's Professional of Record.
Certificate of Authority authorizes a firm to practice Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Licensed Interior Design (59 OS Sec. 46.9).
Any changes to a firm's legal name or to the professional who acts on behalf of the entity in Oklahoma requires a revision to the firm's Certificate of Authority.
