Technical Code Review Committees Updates
Technical committees reviewing the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) and the Affordable Housing and Consolidated Dwellings committee have completed their reviews. Their presentations to the commission are available for review on the technical committee meeting agenda and minutes page.
The commission has approved the presentations with some amendments to begin drafting rules. Rulemaking will commence once the draft rules are completed and approved by the Commission.
The committee reviewing the 2026 National Electrical Code has begun meeting and their meeting calendar is available on the technical committee agenda and minutes page.
Call For Volunteers
The OUBCC is calling for volunteers to serve on the 2026 National Electrical Code Technical Review Committee. If you wish to serve, please fill out and submit a Technical Review Committee Application. There are still a few open positions on the committee and we will accept applications until those positions are filled.
Application deadline is June 1, 2026
The OUBCC is calling for volunteers to serve on the Commercial Energy Conservation Technical Code Review Committee (ECTC), reviewing the commercial portion of the 2021 and 2024 editions of the International Energy Conservation Code. Please fill out and submit a Technical Review Committee Application.
Applications deadline is June 30, 2026.
Code Change Proposals
The deadline for code change proposals for the 2027 National Electrical Code Technical Committee and Commercial Energy Conservation Technical Code Committee has been extended to Friday, July 31, 2026.
Code change proposals for the 2026 National Electrical Code and Commercial Energy Conservation Technical Committee will be accepted for consideration until June 30, 2026. Please fill out the Code Change Proposal Form and follow the directions on it to submit to the OUBCC.
The technical review of the 2021 and 2024 versions of the following codes have been completed:

The mission of the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission is to establish minimum statewide codes affecting or relating to the built environment for the protection of life and property, to be utilized throughout the state, assuring public health, safety, and welfare.
