DDS Hosts Case Manager Webinar

Thursday, February 22, 2024

Applicants will connect with DDS staff to learn more details about this position

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 22, 2024) — As the Oklahoma Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) division seeks to serve families coming off the waitlist, they are hiring new case managers across the state to meet the need. As part of these efforts, DDS is hosting a listening-session-style webinar for potential case manager applicants to learn more about the position.

Case managers help people navigate the DDS waiver system and determine which services will meet their unique needs. Together, the case manager, the person receiving services, and the person’s family and support team collaborate to create an individualized plan, select service providers and build a support network.

Applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a human services field or a valid, permanent Oklahoma license as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to practice professional nursing
  • One year of professional experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities
  • A valid driver’s license and car insurance
  • A clean background check and drug screening

The webinar will provide an overview of case management including job requirements, qualifications, benefits, opportunities for advancement and a Q&A.

“A career in case management is a rewarding one,” said DDS Division Director Beth Scrutchins. “This webinar gives a good look at what it takes to succeed in this role and make a real impact.”

The webinar takes place on Feb. 29 at 12 p.m. on Microsoft Teams. Registration is required, but the webinar is free.
