Lawton Group Home for Boys

The Lawton Boys Group Home was established in 1978. Since that time, we have been through many changes. We moved into our current location in 2013 and changed ownership in 2015 and we are still going strong.

Lawton Boys Group Home is a 16-bed level E facility providing service to males 13-18 in the custody of the Office of Juvenile Affairs. When a client is placed at Lawton Boys Group Home, a full needs assessment is performed at intake. An individual plan is developed based on the specific needs of the client including dental, vision, and other immediate health needs.

Clients will participate in individual, group and family therapy targeting the specific needs of the client and family, with returning home to improved family relationships always being our goal.

Our recreational activities range from onsite basketball, cookouts and gym activities to off-site boating, fishing, bowling, hiking and educational field trips. Eligibility for activities is based on the client’s performance.

Our clients are enrolled in school through Indiahoma Public Schools (IPS). IPS coordinates a self-paced program in which residents can work at their own pace. We have a full-time onsite certified teacher to help guide our clients back on track and back to grade level with credits. Our tutoring volunteer spends hours with our clients to help improve reading scores as well as other skills.

Our clients participate in 3 hours of Life Skills/Basic Living Skills groups weekly as well as demonstrating daily personal hygiene and cleanliness from daily chores. Our clients are challenged to engage each other in a constructive and supportive environment, learning positive communication necessary to succeed in the community at large.

The client’s length of stay is based on the individual’s performance in all aspects of the program. The length of stay at Lawton Boys Group Home is 5-7 months. This can be adjusted to assist in their success in meeting goals.

At the Lawton Boys Group Home our staff are our greatest asset and are always available for questions and concerns. We look forward to being of service.
