Senate Confirms Timothy Tardibono as Executive Director of Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs
Oklahoma City (May 27, 2025) - The Senate voted to confirm Timothy Tardibono as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) today. Tardibono was first appointed to the position by Governor Kevin Stitt in October of 2024. He brings over 20 years of experience in law and public policy to this critical role.
During his six-year tenure as the executive director of the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council (CJAC), Tardibono led initiatives that resulted in significant improvements in reducing jail overcrowding, enhancing data analytics, and expanding program efficiency. His leadership earned Oklahoma County national recognition for sustained progress in criminal justice reform.
Tardibono began his public service career nearly 25 years ago with OJA under former Governor Frank Keating. His extensive experience in public service also includes five years as counsel to U.S. Senator Tom Coburn in Washington, D.C., and four years as assistant general counsel at the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Tardibono holds an undergraduate degree in history from Oklahoma Christian University, as well as a master’s degree in public policy and a Juris Doctor from Regent University in Virginia. His educational background, combined with his professional experience, positions him well to lead OJA in addressing the challenges facing the state's youth.
“I’m extremely humbled to be able to serve Oklahoma’s children and families. I’m grateful to Governor Stitt for the appointment, Senate leadership for advancing my nomination, and senators for their support. Oklahoma is blessed with numerous natural resources, but none more important than our children and youth. I’m excited to continue to enhance relationships with our various partners and staff throughout the state to improve the well-being of youth statewide.”
The confirmation of Timothy Tardibono marks a significant step forward in the state's commitment to improving juvenile justice, expanding OJA’s hope-centered strategies, and ensuring that young people receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
