FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

OJA Offering Significant Financial Incentives to Eligible New Hires

TECUMSEH, JUNE 22, 2023 — The Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is excited to announce an initiative aimed at attracting and retaining quality juvenile justice professionals for their Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC) facility in Tecumseh, OK (10 minutes from Shawnee and 45 minutes from OKC). Recognizing the critical role of dedicated individuals in serving Oklahoma’s youth, OJA is now offering significant financial incentives to eligible new hires in addition to a generous starting salary and one of the best benefits packages in the state.

Effective immediately, qualified candidates for eligible positions who join the OJA team to work within the newly renovated, state of the art, COJC campus can earn up to $5,000 in sign on bonuses. Those who are committed to making a lasting impact by staying employed 30 months will be eligible for an additional $6,000 in continuous service payments.

The ability to offer these incentives are the result of HB 1842 which was authored by Representative Dell Kerbs (R – Shawnee) and Senator John Michael Montgomery (R – Lawton) and signed into law by Governor Stitt on May 1, 2023.

“The state has made significant investments in making the Next Generation Campus at COJC one of the leading juvenile justice secure treatment centers in the country.  We want people that share a passion to make a difference in the lives of youth. This is an incredible opportunity to make a generational impact on the future.  Please join our dedicated OJA team at COJC.”   said OJA Executive Director Rachel Holt.
