Purpose

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is proposing improvements to US-412 from Garland Road east to 30th Street and on US-81 from Maine Street north to West Oak Avenue through Enid in Garfield County, specifically to rehabilitate the concrete pavement, improve drainage, improve traffic operations at intersections, add Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks, and improve grade corrections at railroad track crossings. The existing US-412 roadway from Garland Road to Hoover Street has four 12 ft.-wide driving lanes with a combination of curb and gutter and asphalt shoulders. From Hoover Street to 30th Street, the existing US-412 has a 60 ft.-wide curb and gutter section with a two-way left turn lane in the center. The existing US-81 roadway has six 12 ft.-wide driving lanes with a wide, grassed median. The existing pavement is in poor condition and US-412 has insufficient drainage at the US-412/US-81 intersection & on US-412 from Lakeview Drive to 30th Street. The purpose of the project is to improve the pavement condition within these extents.
