Description

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is studying potential improvemetns to the US-81Corridor from County Road 1320, north of Chickasha, extending approximately 20 miles to just south of Union City. In 2007, ODOT completed a study of the US-81 corridor that recommended adding 2 lanes parallel to the existing highway to create a 4-lane facility. However, widening of US-81 is not currently projgrammed in ODOT's 8-Year Work Plan. This current study identifies potential interim improvements that would improve the safety and operations of the ghiway. ODOT will evaluate adding these interim projects to the 8-Year Work Plan until fundas are identified for the ultimate construction.
