PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE for SH-1 in Pontotoc County, OK

  • Date: May 7th, 2015
  • Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Location: Latta School Cafeteria
    13925 County Road 1560
    Ada, OK 74820

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing to widen State Highway SH-1 from two to four lanes starting from the existing 4 lane section 1.5 miles south of SH-3 and extending north to the SH-3 interchange. Existing SH-1 is a two lane highway with 10 feet wide shoulders. There are several intersections with high accidents within this extent. The current and projected traffic on the highway warrants four lanes. The purpose of the project is to improve the capacity and safety of the highway.

An Open House is being held to present the project information. The Open House will use a come-and-go format; no formal presentation will be given so you can attend at your convenience. The purpose of the Open House is to solicit public input for the proposed changes to SH-1 for further consideration.

Additional information about the project and the upcoming meeting can be obtained from the following:
