Civil Rights Requirements for FTA Sub recipients

The Office of Mobility & Public Transit (OMPT) is the ODOT division responsible for managing funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). These funds are used for the planning, development, operation, and integration of transit and rail into the statewide transportation system. The Contract Compliance Division works with the OMPT to implement and monitor compliance with FTA's civil rights requirements.

Title VI Information

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects people from discrimination based on race, color or national origin in programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title VI states that:

No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Recipient Checklist

The Americans with Disabilities

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is committed to ensuring that Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recipients comply with The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, including 49 CFR Parts 27, 37, 38, & 39. Transportation entities are required to make reasonable modifications/accommodations to policies, practices, and procedures to avoid discrimination and ensure that their programs are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
