Purpose
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is sharing the planned design of the SH-412B interchange at the intersection of US-412. ODOT staff are available to answer questions and listen to comments. Guests are welcome any time during the scheduled hours. There is no formal presentation.
A virtual presentation of the proposed improvements is also available as well as an opportunity for the public to comment and share their feedback. We look forward to your participation!
Description
ODOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are making changes to US-412 due to federal approval to make the highway an interstate. In doing so, intersections along US-412 with stop signs, such as the one at SH-412B, must be updated to an interchange. The project is just west of the Neosho River and south of the MidAmerica Industrial Park (MAIP) in Mayes County.
The planned improvement is known as a “folded diamond interchange.” The project includes:
A new bridge over US-412
Slip ramps for eastbound off and westbound on
Loop ramps for eastbound on and westbound off
Stop signs at the new ramp intersections
All lanes will remain open on US-412 during construction, except for times when temporary lane closures are needed. SH-412B north of US-412 will remain open during construction. The road south of US-412 will not be open during construction.
