This Website is controlled by the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools located in the State of Oklahoma, USA. The laws of the State of Oklahoma will apply to all matters relating to the use of this Website, without giving effect to principles of conflicts of laws. Use of this website submits the user to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the District Court of Oklahoma County, State of Oklahoma, and if applicable, the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, with respect to all matters relating to the use of this Website.

What personally identifiable information does CIB store?


The Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools (OBPVS) may collect the following personally identifiable data as part of the application process for a license or if a disciplinary action occurs.  Licensee’s Name - Date of Birth – Home and/or Business Addresses - Social Security Number - Employer or Taxpayer Identification (TIN) - official state- or government-issued Driver License or Identification Number - ad Other License or Registration Number(s).

Use of Information


As required under Title 74, Section 3106.4 the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools is providing the following information:

The OBPVS protects all personally identifiable data in accordance with the State of Oklahoma Information Security policies, procedures, guidelines (as applicable) at: https://oklahoma.gov/content/dam/ok/en/omes/documents/InfoSecPPG.pdf and the technology that coincides with those policies, etc., and the State of Oklahoma Records Management Act, 67 O.S. § 201, et seq.

The OBPVS shall keep all personally identifiable data confidential as allowed by law, but public policy and statutory requirements allow for the public’s right of access to and review of certain government records not otherwise exempted by case law or Oklahoma Attorney General Opinions.  Under 51 O.S. § 24A.2 of the Open Records Act, it states:
“As the Oklahoma Constitution recognizes and guarantees, all political power is inherent in the people. Thus, it is the public policy of the State of Oklahoma that the people are vested with the inherent right to know and be fully informed about their government. The Oklahoma Open Records Act shall not create, directly or indirectly, any rights of privacy or any remedies for violation of any rights of privacy; nor shall the Oklahoma Open Records Act, except as specifically set forth in the Oklahoma Open Records Act, establish any procedures for protecting any person from release of information contained in public records. The purpose of this act is to ensure and facilitate the public's right of access to and review of government records so they may efficiently and intelligently exercise their inherent political power. The privacy interests of individuals are adequately protected in the specific exceptions to the Oklahoma Open Records Act or in the statutes which authorize, create or require the records. Except where specific state or federal statutes create a confidential privilege, persons who submit information to public bodies have no right to keep this information from public access nor reasonable expectation that this information will be kept from public access; provided, the person, agency or political subdivision shall at all times bear the burden of establishing such records are protected by such a confidential privilege. Except as may be required by other statutes, public bodies do not need to follow any procedures for providing access to public records except those specifically required by the Oklahoma Open Records Act.”
