The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is proud to announce the finalists for the 36th Annual Oklahoma Book Awards! This prestigious award honors outstanding books with an Oklahoma connection, celebrating authors, illustrators, photographers, and book designers whose work enriches our literary landscape.

Oklahoma Book Awards Banquet

The 2025 Oklahoma Book Awards banquet will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Winners in each category will be announced during this special evening dedicated to recognizing literary excellence in Oklahoma.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet the authors and celebrate the incredible literary contributions to our state. Enjoy a book signing, dinner, and a cash bar as we honor the writers who shape Oklahoma’s rich literary landscape.

The Oklahoma Center for the Book (OCB) has partnered with the non-profit Friends of the Oklahoma Center for the Book for more than 30 years to co-sponsor the annual Oklahoma Book Awards.

The OCB, located in the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, is affiliated with the National Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. 

The Center’s mission is to promote Oklahoma authors, celebrate the state’s literary heritage, encourage reading for pleasure by Oklahomans.
