Story Trails in Oklahoma

Take a Walk. Read a Book. At the Same Time!

A story trail is a fun and engaging activity for children and their families. Typically, a story trail will have an oversized children’s book taken apart and placed along an outdoor walking path in the community. Oklahoma boasts more than 30 story trails in communities across the state with some cities/towns having more than one!

Look for a story trail near you!

If your child has completed four story walks/trails or completed one of the trails four times, download and print the certificate. You can personalize it with the child's name and date.

Many of these projects were funded with Health Literacy Grants to public libraries from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
