An introduction to the concept of Crime Gun Intelligence, beginning with a high-level overview of ATF’s National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) and eTrace programs. This block of instruction will cover how the investigation of a firearm can produce investigative leads, with the overall goal of identifying and prosecuting shooters and the sources of Crime Guns. A discussion on the topic of Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGICs) will be introduced, covering the foundational concepts of a successful CGI program
