Intentional Care: Recognizing and Addressing Vicarious Trauma

Description

Working as a legal advocate means walking alongside survivors facing difficult, emotional, and traumatic experiences every single day. This has an impact on you — on your emotional, physical, and psychological well-being. Carrying through and continuing the good work requires intentional care for yourself and a network of support. This training will equip you with a foundational understanding of vicarious trauma—and the role it plays in your daily life. The training will cover the basic neurobiology of trauma, tools to recognize trauma symptoms in yourself and others, and techniques to mitigate its impact. Individuals will be encouraged to participate as we develop resiliency skills including identifying individualized methods of self-care. This webinar is designed for non-attorney advocates.
