Employee Benefits

As a state employee, full-time staff members, have access to a variety of benefits including health coverage options, work-life balance initiatives and retirement savings plans. For detailed information on your benefits, refer to the Service Oklahoma 2025 Employee Benefits Guide.

In 2025, employees will receive an annual benefits allowance of $9,042 for employee-only coverage, in addition to your salary. This allowance increases if you choose to cover dependents, making Service Oklahoma one of the few employers that offers additional benefits for family members. We provide multiple medical, dental, and vision plan options to ensure you can select what best suits your family's needs.

We value the importance of work-life balance. As a state employee, you are entitled to 30 days of annual and sick leave, along with 11 paid holidays. Your leave accrual increases every five years of service, allowing you to accumulate additional time off. Recent legislation also provides eligible employees with up to six weeks of paid maternity leave, enhancing your leave benefits.

Open Enrollment Coming Oct. 1

Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2025 begins on Oct. 1 and will run through Oct. 31. All employees must actively re-enroll in benefits during this period, even if no changes are being made. Contributions to FSA or HSA accounts must be re-entered, and the Opt-Out Form must be completed each year for those opting out. Read on for more details about making your 2025 selections or contact HR at serviceok-hr@service.ok.gov with any questions.

On Oct. 1, all employees will receive a 2025 benefits enrollment task in their Workday "to-do" items. Employees may review and make changes to their benefit elections for Plan Year 2025 throughout the month of Oct. The deadline for enrollment is Oct. 31. Keep the following reminders in mind as you begin your benefit selections.

  • Plan Year 2025 elections will take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
  • To opt out of coverage, the Opt-Out Form must be completed annually and proof of other insurance must be uploaded.
  • Contributions to FSA or HSA accounts must be re-entered each year, as these deductions do not roll over.
  • Vision insurance is an optional benefit and follows a "cover one, cover all" rule for dependents. Vision plans do not issue benefit cards.
  • Employees requesting additional life insurance must complete a Life Insurance Application and submit it to EGID by Oct. 31. The application must be signed in ink (no digital signatures), and the total life insurance amount requested should include existing coverage. Employees not increasing their life insurance do not need to submit this form.
  • For those re-enrolling in HealthChoice High or Basic plans, the Tobacco-free Attestation must be completed online by Dec. 31. If not completed, employees will be enrolled in an alternative plan. Tobacco users may still complete the attestation by either enrolling in 1-800-QUIT-NOW and completing three coaching sessions, or obtaining a letter from their doctor stating that it is medically necessary for them not to quit at this time.
