NEH Funding Available for Collections Stewardship

Tuesday, November 03, 2026

Oklahoma's museums, libraries, archives, tribal nations, and cultural organizations hold remarkable collections, and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has a funding opportunity to help preserve them.

The NEH's Collections Stewardship program supports conservation, digitization, enhancement of long-standing digital resources, and preservation training. A single organization may request up to $350,000, and a consortium up to $500,000, over as many as three years. No cost share or match is required.

Funding can support assessments, storage and preservation supplies, collections cataloging, transcription of source materials, educating and training college students, and more. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, accredited colleges and universities, state and local governments, and federally recognized tribal governments.

Applications go through grants.gov and SAM.gov, so organizations are encouraged to begin registration early. Deadline for applications is December 15.
