Outdoor music festivals bring Oklahoma communities together, lure out-of-town visitors, and boost the bottom lines of local vendors and retailers. Grants from the Levitt Family Foundation help make outdoor festivals possible nationwide. Through November 20, the foundation is accepting applications for its 2027 cycle of festival grants. Up to $5,000 is available.
To be eligible, festivals must take place outdoors in a public space and be free to attend. They must be built around a theme, such as a music genre, local tradition, cultural heritage, or a business district, and feature professional musicians who are paid for their performances. Concert series and single performances are not eligible. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
Proposals should show a festival that welcomes all ages and backgrounds, offers something unique to the community, and builds on a record of producing community events.
