Programs that leverage the arts for rural economic development and job creation may qualify for grant funding through the Rural Business Development Grants program. Available through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the funding features no cost sharing requirement and can be used in a wide variety of efforts.
Eligible applicants include public bodies/government entities, rural cooperatives, tribal nations, and nonprofit organizations serving primarily rural areas. Rural areas are defined as towns outside the urbanized periphery of any city with a population of 50,000 or more. Grants generally range from $10,000 to $500,000.
