New and emerging executive leadership at small and mid-sized Oklahoma museums are encouraged to learn about a professional development opportunity designed with their unique needs in mind. Engage Forward: 21st Century Museum Professionals LEAD (Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy and Development), a program designed by the Oklahoma Museums Association in partnership with the Mountain Plains Museums Association (MPMA), will feature a two-day virtual institute in Feburary 2027.
For the institute, a cohort of 30 individuals from the ten-state MPMA region will be selected to participate in training led by nationally recognized content experts focusing on strategic leadership, sustainability, and emerging challenges. Open to those with less than three years of experience in executive or senior leadership roles at small or mid-sized museums (one with about 3-10 staff members), applications for the institute are due August 31.
