New Council Members Begin Three-Year Terms

The Oklahoma Arts Council welcomed three new Governor-appointed Council members as they began three-year terms July 1.

Barby Myers joins the Council from Claremore. A former executive director of Red Earth with 40 years of experience in government, communications, and economic development, Myers previously served as chief of staff to former Oklahoma First Lady Cathy Keating.

Scott Parman joins the Council from Oklahoma City. Co-founder and president of an investment advisory firm, Parman's background includes advising small business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals. He previously served on Congressman Tom Cole's staff.

Krista Samples joins the Council from Edmond. The daughter of an artist and public school teacher, Samples previously held senior executive leadership roles with BankOnIT, a technology services firm that serves community banks. She brings more than 15 years experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and organizational operations.
