Licensees shall be required to meet the continuing education requirements as a condition for licensure renewal. All PDH's earned must be relevant to the practice of engineering and/or land surveying as applicable and may include technical, ethical or business content. The activity should maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field and methods of practice. See below for a link to all of the continuing education rules.
Methods of Reporting Continuing Education Credit
A licensee may choose either the Board's standard continuing education reporting method or comply with the calendar year reporting method.
- The standard method requires that a licensee obtain thirty (30) professional development hours (PDH's) within a two year renewal period. If a licensee exceeds the requirement in any renewal period, a maximum of fifteen (15) PDH's may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
- The calendar year reporting method requires a minimum of fifteen (15) PDH's per calendar year, totaling thirty (30) PDH's per renewal period, with no allowable carryover.
View the schedule for those choosing the calendar year method.
MyNCEES Account
A licensee may use their MyNCEES account to track and report their continuing education activities to the Board (if you are randomly selected for the continuing education audit).
