LIHEAP American Rescue Plan Act Supplement
Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Your household has been identified to receive a $250 ARPA supplemental payment for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) which will be paid directly to your utility provider by OKDHS. An email notice has been sent to your utility provider about the ARPA supplement.
Priority is given to households with family members who are disabled, aged (65 or older) or blind, or households with children under 5 years of age, until funds are exhausted. All household members must currently receive benefit(s) on an active OKDHS case and have a high percentage of their income spent on energy costs, which must be confirmed by your current utility provider.
You do not need to make an application or call anyone to receive this benefit.
The ARPA supplement:
- will be issued one time only.
- will be paid directly to the utility provider.
- cannot be paid directly to the household.
- authorization that is invalidated by the utility provider cannot be reissued.
- funds cannot be moved from one utility provider to another.
- cannot be reissued once the funds have been returned.
If you need to apply for 2022 Summer Cooling LIHEAP, you may make application online at OKDHSLive.org. Again, you do not need to make application for the ARPA supplement.
