Medicaid Service Update

To:  ADvantage Assisted Living and Case Management Providers

Subject:  Assisted Living Move-In and Move-Out Dates

Date:  July 28, 2022

A new document has been created in Harmony to help Assisted Living (AL) Providers capture the ADvantage Member’s move-in and move-out dates, along with other pertinent Member transition information.  AL staff will complete the new document, titled AL Move-In/Move-Out Date (AL FACILITY ONLY), after the ADvantage Member has moved into, or out of, their Assisted Living Center (ALC).

The document can be found by going to the Member’s record in Harmony, selecting the Documents tab, hovering over File in the menu bar, and selecting Add Document.  

The completion of this document will trigger a tickler to MSU ADvantage, alerting them to add or update the AL authorization as appropriate.  The Document Status field on the form must be changed to “Complete” before saving the document to trigger the tickler.   

It is recommended the AL Provider complete the AL Move-In/Move-Out Date (AL FACILITY ONLY) document within 1 business day of the Member’s move to prevent delays in authorization and potential billing issues.  A new document will be needed for each move-in or move-out occurrence. 

Please note: The AL service line will not be authorized until the Member’s move-in date is provided by the ALC on this document. In the event the Member was living in the ALC prior to enrollment in the ADvantage waiver, the AL service line will be authorized for the date the Member is certified for ADvantage.
