OKDHS:2-21-50. Records Management Program scope

     The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Support Services Departmental Services Unit (DSU) Records Management Section coordinates, plans, develops, and implements the DHS Records Management Program.

  • (1) Records management includes all record formats, such as electronic files, tapes, disks, microfilm, audio and video tapes, email, local and wide-area computer networks, and paper documents.

  • (2) Records are maintained to:

    • (A) document DHS functions, policies, decisions, procedures, and essential transactions; and

    • (B) furnish information that protects DHS legal and financial rights and of persons directly affected by DHS activities.

  • (3) Records created or received in the transaction of official business are not destroyed without prior authorization from the Archives and Records Commission via the DSU records management coordinator.
