340:75-7-52.1. Social Security benefits

     Resource parent may become payee of certain benefits provided to the child.  The resource parent may opt to receive an Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) foster care maintenance payment or a Social Security benefit payment for which the child is eligible.  Upon application, the resource parent with whom the child in OKDHS custody has lived continuously for at least twelve months may become the payee to receive the child's Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits.

1.  The resource parent may become payee of certain benefits provided to the child.  The resource parent may apply to become the payee of the child's Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits when the child receives such benefits and has lived continuously in the resource home for at least 12 months.  The resource specialist:

(1) assists the resource parent with the application at the local Social Security office; and

(2) enters the SSI or SSA benefit amount into KIDS Resource, Other, Soc.Sec.Pmt. screen for each child.  KIDS automatically adjusts the child's claim.
