Ask DHS - Office of Inspector General

What does and Inspector General do?

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) investigates reported fraud in programs such as Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - formerly known as food stamps - as well as internal allegations of employee misconduct. OIG also audits DHS programs, processes and contractors (including child care providers) to make sure they comply with state and federal regulations.
