US-75 interchange project near Preston in Okmulgee County begins Tuesday
US-75 narrows to one lane in each direction through 2026
Work begins next week on a more than $11 million interchange project on US-75 at Preston Rd./Will Sampson Rd. near Preston in Okmulgee County. The project will convert the current at-grade intersection to a full interchange with a bridge over US-75 and ramps to access the highway. Current US-75 connections at 220 Rd. and O'Connor St. will be closed off with new connections to Preston Rd. near the new interchange. The goal of the project is to increase safety in the area.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, north and southbound US-75 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at Preston Rd. through 2026.
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the contract for this project to Sherwood Construction Inc. in December 2025. The overall project is expected to be complete in late 2026, weather permitting.
