The following projects are weather permitting:
Northwest Expressway closes at May Ave. Sunday, Monday nights
Westbound NW Expwy will close at May Ave. with traffic detoured to northbound May Ave. from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and again Monday night for bridge demolition.
May Ave., N.W. Expressway traffic detoured through 2026
The following ramps are closed through 2026 for a City of Oklahoma City bridge reconstruction project.
- Northbound and southbound May Ave. lanes are shifted onto temporary lanes and drivers should be aware of newly installed traffic signals to cross east and westbound NW Expwy
- Eastbound and westbound N.W. Expressway is narrowed in both directions at May Ave
I-44 shoulder work at Pennsylvania Ave. Sunday night
Drivers should be aware of crews in the shoulder of eastbound I-44 between Penn Ave. and Western Ave. from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday for traffic control preparation in advance of the rehabilitation project over Classen Circle.
I-44 narrows at N.W. Expressway Monday night through spring 2027
The following work begins Monday as part of an I-44 bridge rehabilitation project over Classen Circle.
- Eastbound I-44 will be narrowed to one lane near the on-ramp from eastbound N.W. Expressway, beginning at 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
- Eastbound I-44 will be narrowed to two lanes between the eastbound N.W. Expressway on-ramp and Western Ave. beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday and continuing through spring 2027.
- The eastbound I-44 off-ramp to Western Ave. will remain open at this time.
- The eastbound I-44 on-ramp from eastbound N.W. Expressway will have a limited merge area.
I-44 narrows at S.W. 89th St. Monday night
The left lane of eastbound I-44 (runs north) will be closed between S.W. 89th St. and S.W. 74th St. from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for bridge maintenance.
Western Ave. closed at N.W. 23rd St. through June
Western Ave. is closed just north of N.W. 23rd St. through June as part of ongoing work in the area.
N.W. 23rd St. narrows to one lane at Broadway Ave. through summer 2026
East and westbound N.W. 23rd St. will be intermittently narrowed between Broadway Ave. and Western Ave. through summer for a streetscape project in partnership wit\h the City of Oklahoma City.
Ongoing Construction Projects:
I-240 narrows at I-35 through 2026
The following closures are scheduled for east and westbound I-240, S.E. 59th St., Pole Rd. and I-240/I-35 service roads as part of a multi-phase interchange improvement project:
- I-240 is narrowed to two lanes at I-35; lanes are narrow with no shoulders
- Crossroads Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction through 2025
- S.E. 74th St./I-240 Service Rd. is closed to through traffic between Eastern Ave. and Crossroads Blvd. through spring 2026
- East and westbound I-240 frontage roads will be intermittently narrowed
The new northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound I-240 is open and the entrance is farther south than the previous off-ramp. Drivers can use I-40 as an alternate route.
Garth Brooks Blvd. narrowed to one lane at I-40 in Yukon through summer 2026
North and southbound Garth Brooks Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Andrew Dr. and Health Center Parkway, under I-40, through summer 2026 for resurfacing. East and westbound I-40 on and off-ramps may be affected during this time.
SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy ramp narrowed at SH-3/N.W. Expwy through summer 2026
The northbound SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy off-ramp is narrowed with a temporary ramp open to SH-3/N.W. Expwy and east and westbound SH-3/N.W. Expwy is narrowed between SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy and N. Independence Ave. as part of an intersection improvement project.
I-40 narrows at US-281 Spur in Canadian Co. through fall 2026
Eastbound and westbound I-40 is narrowed to one lane in both directions near US-281 Spur just west of El Reno through fall 2026 for a bridge project. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes.
US-81 narrows near El Reno daily through August
North and southbound US-81 will have various, intermittent lane closures between S.W. 29th St. and Jensen Rd. near El Reno from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through August for resurfacing.
SH-4 between Wilshire Blvd. and SH-3/NW Expressway through spring 2026
The following closures are for an on-going reconstruction project:
- North and southbound SH-4/Piedmont Rd. is narrowed between NW 122nd and SH-3
- W. Britton Rd. is closed between SH-4 and N. Mustang Rd. through mid-May for surfa
SH-37/S.E. 4th St. closed at Broadway Ave. in Moore through summer 2026
East and westbound SH-37/S.E. 4th St. is closed between Broadway Ave. and Tower Dr. in Moore through summer 2026 as part of a railroad bridge project.
Danforth Rd., Kelly Ave. narrowed in Edmond through summer 2026
East and westbound Danforth Rd. and north and southbound Kelly Ave. are narrowed to one lane in each direction at the intersection in Edmond through Spring for intersection expansion in partnership with the City of Edmond.
SH-66 narrows near SH-4 in Yukon nightly through August
East and westbound SH-66 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between 6th St. and SH-4/Cornwell Dr. in Yukon from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through August for surface work.
