OKC Traffic Advisory 4-22-26

The following projects are weather permitting:

I-40 narrows at Air Depot Blvd. in Midwest City Wednesday night

Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed between Air Depot Blvd. and Douglas Blvd. from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday for temporary sign removal.

I-240 narrows at S. Walker Ave. Wednesday night

Eastbound I-240 will be narrowed between S. Walker Ave. and I-35 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday for sign repair.

I-40 narrows near S. Council Rd. through Friday

Westbound I-40 will be narrowed near S. Council Rd. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday for drain repairs.

I-40 narrows at US-81 through Friday

East and westbound I-40 will be intermittently narrowed between US-81 and Country Club Rd. from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Friday morning for surface repairs.

Britton Rd. closed at SH-4 through mid-May

Britton Rd. is closed between SH-4 and N. Mustang Rd. through mid-May for surface work.

N.W. 23rd St. narrowed at N. Broadway Ave. through early May

N.W. 23rd St. is narrowed to one lane between N. Broadway Ave. and N. Hudson Ave. through early May for ongoing work in the area. 

N.W. 23rd St. narrows to one lane at Broadway Ave. through summer 2026

East and westbound N.W. 23rd St. will be intermittently narrowed between Broadway Ave. and Western Ave. through summer for a streetscape project in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City.

Ongoing Construction Projects:

I-240 narrows at I-35 through 2026

The following closures are scheduled for east and westbound I-240, S.E. 59th St., Pole Rd. and I-240/I-35 service roads as part of a multi-phase interchange improvement project:

• I-240 is narrowed to two lanes at I-35; lanes are narrow with no shoulders
• Crossroads Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction through 2025
• S.E. 74th St./I-240 Service Rd. is closed to through traffic between Eastern Ave. and Crossroads Blvd. through spring 2026
• East and westbound I-240 frontage roads will be intermittently narrowed

The new northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound I-240 is open and the entrance is farther south than the previous off-ramp. Drivers can use I-40 as an alternate route.

I-44 ramps close at N.W. 10th St. through summer 2026 for City project

The east and westbound I-44 off-ramps (run north and south) to N.W.10th St. are closed through summer 2026 for a City of Oklahoma City bridge project.

N.W. 23rd St. narrows to one lane at Broadway Ave. through summer 2026

East and westbound N.W. 23rd St. will be intermittently narrowed between Broadway Ave. and Western Ave. through summer for a streetscape project in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City.

SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy ramp narrowed at SH-3/N.W. Expwy through summer 2026

The northbound SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy off-ramp is narrowed with a temporary ramp open to SH-3/N.W. Expwy and east and westbound SH-3/N.W. Expwy is narrowed between SH-74/Lake Hefner Pkwy and N. Independence Ave. as part of an intersection improvement project.

Garth Brooks Blvd. narrowed to one lane at I-40 in Yukon through summer 2026

North and southbound Garth Brooks Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Andrew Dr. and Health Center Parkway, under I-40, through summer 2026 for resurfacing. East and westbound I-40 on and off-ramps may be affected during this time.

I-40 narrows at US-281 Spur in Canadian Co. Friday through mid-May

Eastbound and westbound I-40 is narrowed to one lane in both directions near US-281 Spur just west of El Reno for striping operations through mid-May as part of on going working in the area. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes. 

SH-4 between Wilshire Blvd. and SH-3/NW Expressway through spring 2026

The following closures are for an on-going reconstruction project:

• North and southbound SH-4/Piedmont Rd. is narrowed between NW 122^nd and SH-3
• W. Hefner Rd. is closed for installation of new drainage and drivers should use an alternate route
• Southbound SH-4/Piedmont Rd. is narrowed to one lane between N.W. 178th St. and N.W. 164th St. in Piedmont
• East and westbound W. Hefner Rd. is closed at SH-4/N. Piedmont Rd. through April

US-81 ramp to I-40 closed, US-81 narrowed in El Reno through early 2026

The following closures will be in place at the SH-66/US-81 intersection in El Reno through 2025 for roundabout construction:

• The northbound US-81 off-ramp to eastbound I-40 is closed.
• Drivers should be aware there will be work taking place inside the roundabout and in the surrounding area through fall 2026.
• Northbound and southbound US-81 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-66.

SH-37/S.E. 4th St. closed at Broadway Ave. in Moore through summer 2026

East and westbound SH-37/S.E. 4th St. is closed between Broadway Ave. and Tower Dr. in Moore through summer 2026 as part of a railroad bridge project. 

SH-9E narrows near US-77 in Norman through spring 2026

East and westbound SH-9E will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction just west of US-77, over Bishop Creek in Norman, through spring 2026 for bridge replacement. Crews will work to limit closures for major travel events; however, drivers should plan ahead and prepare for additional travel time.

Danforth Rd., Kelly Ave. narrowed in Edmond through spring 2026

East and westbound Danforth Rd. and north and southbound Kelly Ave. are narrowed to one lane in each direction at the intersection in Edmond through Spring for intersection expansion in partnership with the City of Edmond.

SH-152 closed at Banner Rd., near Union City through late spring 2026

All lanes of eastbound and westbound SH-152 are closed between Banner Rd. and Cemetery Rd. through late spring 2026 for reconstruction. Drivers can use US-81 to I-40 to SH-4 or US-81 to SH-37 to SH-4 as a detour.
