Multiple bridge projects begin Tuesday in Sand Springs, West Tulsa

Drivers along US-64/US-412 and SH-97 in west Tulsa and Sand Springs should be aware of multiple bridge rehabilitation projects beginning Tuesday along US-412 and SH-97/Wilson Ave.

The first project on US-412 is over 177th W. Ave. in Sand Springs. This over $3 million project will replace the deck along both bridges and make repairs to the bridges' substructures. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through late spring 2027, weather permitting.

The second project on US-412 involves the bridges over Main St. in Sand Springs, 49th W. Ave. and 33rd W. Ave. in West Tulsa. This $6.5 million project also replaces the bridge decks and repairs bridge substructures. US-412 will be reduced to one lane in each direction over Main St. and two lanes in each direction at both 49th W. Ave. and 33rd W. Ave. Weather permitting, this project should be completed late spring 2027.

The third project beginning Tuesday is for the northbound SH-97/Wilson Ave. bridge over the Arkansas River. This approximately $460,000 project involves substructure repairs as well as joint sealing and flood coating. Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, but both lanes will remain open from 6-9 a.m. weekdays for the morning rush hour. Weather permitting, this project will be completed early 2027.

Drivers should also be aware of other ongoing nearby bridge projects along US-64/US-412:

• US-412 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at the Arkansas River/Keystone Lake in Pawnee County through fall 2027.
• US-412 is narrowed to one lane in each direction over Shell Creek, between 177th W. Ave. and 129th W. Ave. in Sand Springs through early 2027.
